1.About Vectis Works and this policy

Vectis Works designs and builds software, data systems and plant dashboards for manufacturing companies, and operates from Nashville, Tennessee. The full postal address is in section 14. This policy applies to vectisworkshq.com and to business email that Vectis Works sends. Where it says "we" or "us", it means Vectis Works.

2.When we get in touch, and how

The people we write to work at manufacturers, in jobs close to what we do: running operations or a plant, or working in engineering or IT, for instance. Most contact happens by work email. Once in a while it may be a call to a business number or a letter sent to a company address. We get in touch only where our work may matter to the company, and a request to stop ends it.

3.What we keep on file

• Contact details at work. Where we can find them: name, title, employer, work email, business phone, and a link to a professional profile.
• About the company. What it is called, its website and industry, how big it is, where it is located, and its business address.
• Public activity by the company. For example job ads, news stories and posts it has published.
• Email checks. A test of whether a work address accepts mail, so messages aren't sent to dead addresses.
• Messages and notes. What you write back, and anything noted down from a conversation.
• Visits to this site. There are no cookies and no analytics here. The company hosting the site keeps ordinary technical logs, IP addresses and browser types among them, so it can serve and secure the pages. Figtree, the typeface, comes from Google Fonts, and Google receives your IP address when it loads.

Sensitive information is not something we gather: no health details, no financial account numbers, no government-issued ID.

4.Our sources

• Openly published material: job boards, news sites, company websites and professional networking profiles.
• Firms that sell business contact data and company data.
• You yourself, whenever you answer an email, complete a form or talk with us.

5.Why we use it

The information serves these purposes:

• deciding whether what Vectis Works offers might fit your company;
• writing to you at work about what we offer;
• confirming that an email address works before anything is sent to it;
• answering you, and talking about or delivering services when you ask for that;
• maintaining the list of people who must not be contacted;
• protecting our systems and complying with the law.

Nothing in our emails reports back when you open one. Opens are not tracked.

6.Asking us to stop

To stop hearing from Vectis Works, answer any of our emails and say you want it to end. The exact words don't matter. On a phone call, saying so to the caller counts the same way. We act on it promptly, and in every case within 10 business days.

From then on, your email address and name sit on a do-not-contact list. That keeps us from reaching you again, including when your details turn up through some other source.

7.Choices you have

You may ask Vectis Works to tell you what it holds about you and which sources it came from, to fix anything inaccurate, and to erase your information. The one thing kept after erasure is the do-not-contact entry, because without it the request to stop could not keep being honored.

Some state laws, California's among them, give residents added rights: knowing, correcting and deleting personal information, and opting out when it is sold or shared. Vectis Works does not sell personal information and does not share it in that sense. Exercising a right never leads to different treatment.

How to ask: answer one of our emails, send a note through the vectisworks.com contact form, or post a letter to the address in section 14. To check that a request is genuine, we may ask you to confirm which email address we wrote to. Answers come within the period the law sets. An agent you authorize can also submit a request in your place.

8.Sharing

Vectis Works never sells or rents personal information, and never passes it to another company for that company's marketing or for targeted ads. It goes only to:

• Companies doing work for us. Email and mailbox services, email verification, providers of business data, and hosting and storage. Their use is limited to providing that service to Vectis Works.
• Authorities or others, where a law requires disclosure, or where it is needed to protect the rights, property or safety of Vectis Works.
• Whoever buys or succeeds the business, if Vectis Works is sold or reorganized, on condition that they go on protecting it under this policy.

9.Retention

Contact information about businesses stays on file for as long as it serves our contact with businesses, and stale records get updated or deleted. Records about clients are held as long as the engagement needs them, and as long as accounting and legal duties require. A do-not-contact entry lasts as long as Vectis Works contacts businesses at all.

10.Security

Only people with a need for the information can reach it, and reasonable organizational and technical safeguards are in place. Even so, security can never be absolute, and Vectis Works does not promise that it is.

11.Location

Vectis Works operates from the US and writes to US businesses. Your information is handled in the US, and in any other place our service providers work.

12.Children

Our services and messages are aimed at businesses. We do not knowingly gather information about people younger than 18.

13.Revisions

If this policy is revised, the date near the top of the page moves to match.
